Essex, CT (April 12, 2023) - The 7th Connecticut Spring Boat Show will take place April 28-30, 2023 at Safe Harbor Essex Island, located in Essex, CT.  The in-water boat show will raise funds for Sails Up 4 Cancer (SU4C), a non-profit organization supporting cancer care, education, prevention and research.  Sails Up 4 Cancer will benefit from 50% of ticket sales proceeds.  Last year’s show raised $23,000 for the non-profit. 

Show attendees will have an ideal opportunity to compare different boats, dealers and options in one beautiful location.  In addition to boats on the docks, the show will have over 30 exhibitors on display including yacht brokers, boat gear, artists, accessories, and service companies on the lawn.

3:30-6:00pm SoundWaves offers an acoustic repertoire covering an eclectic range of styles, including old standards to contemporary.

Live Music

12:00 -2:30pm Lewis & Merritt are an acoustic duo comprised of two members of Wicked Peach, which has been a staple cover rock band in the New London County area for over 25 years.

3:00-5:00pm Wooly Mammoth officially started in 2013, most of the players have been jamming together for years in various places, parties, open mic nights and wherever they found each other with instruments lying around. 

Movie Premiere

10:30 am MELGES: The Wizard of Zenda, a film about the life of sailing legend Buddy Melges, will have its Connecticut premiere in conjunction with this year’s Connecticut Spring Boat Show at Safe Harbor Essex Island in Essex, CT, on Saturday, April 29. The ninety-minute movie will have two showings hosted at the Essex Yacht Club at 10:30 and 1:30. Tickets will be $20 with half of the proceeds going to benefit Sails Up 4 Cancer. Special Fundraiser Cruise

5:30-7:30pm Sunset Cocktail and Dinner Cruise for Sails Up 4 Cancer

Help raise funds for Sails Up 4 Cancer while enjoying a sunset cocktail cruise on ADVENTURE, a beautifully restored 65-foot vintage riverboat, sponsored by Essex Steam Train & Riverboat Cruises. On board you will find an enclosed lower cabin with table seating for chef-catered hors d'oeuvres and entrees, and a hand crafted, full-service wooden bar. 12:00-2:00pm The Vitas are a group of three musicians who are heavily influenced by grunge and classic rock music.

2:30 -5:00pm The Fake Experience is an authentic blend of rock, reggae, pop, country, and original material keeps the party going.

3 Day CT Spring Boat Show Tickets will be offered at $20 per adult and free for children 13 and under, granting access to the show and talks all weekend long, rain or shine.  50% of the proceeds will benefit Sails Up 4 Cancer, a non-profit organization and local charity who distributes funds to families impacted by cancer.  Advance tickets can be purchased by visiting: www.ctspringboatshow.com.

 Safe Harbor Essex Island Marina is located on a 13-acre private Island, accessed by a complementary ferry service, and offers 125 slips accommodating vessels up to 200’. The resort marina is family friendly and offers food and beverages, along with live music throughout the weekend.
